Abnormal Liver Tests

Medivance
Abnormal liver tests can arise from various causes. About 1 in 6 people will have some abnormal liver function at some point in their life. About 20% of people with abnormal liver function will have underlying liver disease. Majority of these people will be asymptomatic. Further investigation including liver specific blood test and radiological test will be needed to assess for underlying cause of liver disease. A liver specialist may also advice for more specialised tests including non invasive test, endoscopy and liver biopsy to assess the severity of the liver disease.
